Amy Simons: Simulating newsroom meetings using VoiceThread

A Male Presenter Communicates with a Guestd uring a Radio Broadcast

Missouri School of Journalism Professor Amy Simons shares an award-winning assignment she create called "Hold a Monthly Web Strategy Meeting," in which students analyze data and present strategies for growing a news website's traffic.

Students use VoiceThread to present their strategies asynchronously to peers, who respond in the roles of skeptical colleagues. VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia tool that allows people to leave comments using voice, text, audio files, or video.
