Description
Join Mizzou Online for a 10-day challenge designed to strengthen your digital accessibility skills, one small, achievable step at a time. Each day, you'll receive a short "mission" focused on a key area of accessibility in Canvas and common teaching materials.
Over the course of the challenge, you'll learn how to:
- Streamline your course materials and set accessibility priorities.
- Use plain language, headings, and lists to support all learners.
- Add descriptive links and alternative text to images.
- Ensure color contrast, captions, and tables meet accessibility standards.
- Check accessibility using built-in tools and improve your Ally course score.
How it works:
You'll receive one mission per day for 10 days. Each mission includes clear steps and links to quick tutorials.
Earn your badge:
Participants who complete all 10 challenges and share a screenshot of their Ally score before starting and after finishing to teachingonline@missouri.edu will earn the Digital Accessibility Challenge Badge from Mizzou Online.
Why join:
Accessibility isn't just a compliance requirement; it's a civil right and a cornerstone of quality course design. This challenge helps you take practical, meaningful action to make your online teaching more learner centered.
