Semester-Based Course Development Begins Spring 2025
Starting in Spring 2025, Design Services will shift to a semester-based timeline for course development projects. We invite you to request project support for online courses that will launch in the Summer or Fall of 2025.
In this process, you will work with an instructional designer and an experience designer to create new or redesign existing courses. Please note that during Spring 2025, we will proactively engage in course development projects for classes launching in Summer or Fall 2025. We encourage all faculty to request development support during this period. We look forward to partnering with you on this exciting initiative.

“How to Wrap Up Your Course in Canvas” Hybrid Session
Sign up to attend the “End-of-Semester: How to Wrap Up Your Course in Canvas” hybrid session on the MU Teaching for Learning Center event calendar. Attend in person (MU Teaching for Learning Center, 25 Ellis Library) or via Zoom on Friday, Nov. 15, from noon to 12:45 p.m.

An instructional designer will facilitate a discussion about why to have an intentional plan and will share example activities for wrapping up learning with students. An academic technologist will present an end-of-semester checklist for Canvas and review the many options for configuring and wrapping up your Canvas gradebook and course site, including how to:
- Apply late/missing policies to grades
- Hide and post grades
- Submit final grades from Canvas to SIS (to myZou/Pathway/MyView/JoeSS)
- Back up your Canvas site content and your gradebook for your own records
- Review your gradebook and content for any items to exclude before you copy the course
Participants will have opportunities to share their ideas and tips for wrapping up courses. By the end of the session, you should be able to create your own customized course wrap-up plan or checklist.
