Marketing & Student Lifecycle Services Updates
Effective July 1, Missouri Online will no longer offer marketing services.
With this shared decision, each institution will be responsible for marketing support of any efforts to promote their online portfolio. We are working with each institution’s marketing team to make sure this is a smooth transition.
The Missouri Online brand and the associated brand advertising campaign promoting all four institutions will be discontinued.
Student Lifecycle Services update:
- The Student Lifecycle Services team name has been updated to Recruitment and Student Support.
- Services will focus on the recruitment of prospective students.
What’s staying the same:
The office of Missouri Online and other services we offer will remain:
- Program Coordination
- Recruitment and Student Support
- Academic Technology
- Instructional and Experience Design
- Data Solutions & Analytics

Honorlock to Replace SmarterProctoring
As a reminder, Honorlock will replace SmarterProctoring as our new proctoring solution. Honorlock protects exam integrity with a combination of live proctors and artificial intelligence (AI) tools. They offer 24/7 support to test takers and instructors.
Honorlock is now available in Canvas. Registration for training is currently open, with several options available. If these times do not work for you, we encourage you to schedule a one-on-one consultation. Please take a look at our documentation on Teaching Tools for more information.
SmarterProctoring will be available through May 31.
Harmonize and Kritik Pilots Extended to Dec. 31
If you are interested in trying Harmonize or Kritik in the summer and/or fall, the tools will be made available through Dec. 31.
- Harmonize is a discussion board tool that weaves together rich multimedia, student milestones, reactions and tagging, annotations and an assistive prompt writer incorporating ChatGPT.
- Kritik facilitates online peer-to-peer assessment of student work, allowing students to learn from their peers, adapt and improve their work and gain a deeper understanding of the topic.
If you are interested in participating in the pilots, please email teachingtools@umsystem.edu.
UDOIT Advantage Pilot Coming in July
Missouri Online currently supports UDOIT (pronounced “you-do-it”), a tool that can scan your Canvas site and help you address potential barriers for students with disabilities. In July, we will launch a one-year pilot of an upgraded version, UDOIT Advantage. With UDOIT Advantage, you can check and fix documents uploaded to your Canvas site. The new version allows you to generate alternate formats for those documents; for example, converting an inaccessible PDF file to an accessible file or even an MP3 file the student can download.
We believe UDOIT Advantage will be a huge step toward supporting success for all students. The tool will be available in Canvas in early July. Please reach out to us at teachingtools@umsystem.edu if your academic unit would like a demonstration to learn more!
End of the Semester Checklist
The end of the semester is here! We’re all excited for a break, but be sure you have everything checked off your list before summer. Download your gradebook and get organized with our End of Semester Checklist.
