GET STARTED WITH OneHE
We are excited to announce that faculty and employees now have complete access to OneHE, an outstanding resource for professional development, community and more. As you prepare to wind down for the summer, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your teaching and engage with a community of educators worldwide.
OneHE micro-courses take about 20 minutes to complete and include:
- Videos
- Engagement ideas
- Activities
- Practical suggestions
- Written material designed for immediate use in your courses
Even better, you can also access campus-focused OneHE group pages, where faculty discuss topics of their choice.
To get started, visit the OneHE UM System login page and select your home campus. Questions? Contact the instructional design team via email.
ACCESS CANVAS TEMPLATES EASILY
The newly updated Canvas template page on teaching.missouri.edu now features all the templates Missouri Online has developed. These are free for faculty to import into their Canvas courses. If you have any questions or need help with templates, please reach out via email.
EXPLORE CANVAS STUDENT PATHWAYS
Canvas Student Pathways (formerly Portfolium) is our new platform for e-portfolios, badges and micro-credentials. Faculty or academic units with an immediate need for Canvas Student Pathways are invited to start using the platform this summer. Others can begin in the fall as more teaching and learning support becomes available. Watch for more information about the rollout in coming weeks.
If you have questions or would like to get started with the platform this summer, please reach out via email.
CANVAS ACCESS FOR INCOMPLETES
If you have students with incomplete or delayed grades who need to access your Canvas course after the semester ends, please submit a requestthrough the Canvas Request System. This creates a section for incompletes with the student’s name included in the relevant course. Access ends one year after the incomplete is assigned.
While any employee can submit a request, only instructor submissions are approved automatically. Canvas administrators will review non-instructor requests before processing them. Learn more about incomplete and delayed grades in this article.
MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION FOR ZOOM
Starting May 18, Zoom accounts will require multi-factor authentication (MFA). This security upgrade reduces the possibility of unauthorized access to your account, much like the MFA required for Canvas, Panopto, myHR and other UM System platforms.
A brief maintenance period will occur May 18 from 5-7 a.m. Here’s what to expect:
- Your username and password will remain the same (your UM System login).
- There may be a brief outage during the maintenance period that blocks logins.
- There will be no interruption to in-progress meetings.
- The first time you log in after the maintenance period, you may be prompted to accept new terms of agreement.
Note: If you are using a resource account to log in to Zoom, please work with an IT professional to identify other options.
