We Want Your Feedback on teaching.missouri.edu
Missouri Online’s main department website, teaching.missouri.edu, is undergoing a site rebuild, and your feedback will help guide our efforts. If you’d like to share your comments, please complete our brief survey (three to five minutes to complete) by Feb. 28.
Three Tools: A Hands-on Exploration of VoiceThread, Panopto and Hypothes.is
Experience academic technology from the student’s perspective by attending our showcase of “Three Tools: A Hands-on Exploration of VoiceThread, Panopto and Hypothesis” on Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. Register for this guided, hands-on exploration of tools that integrate with Canvas. During this session, you will try out these tools from the student's perspective by participating in sample activities created by Missouri Online instructional designers.
- VoiceThread is a multimedia collaboration platform.
- Panopto is a video and presentation recording tool.
- Hypothes.is is an open-source, collaborative annotation software.
By the end of this session, you should be able to identify logistical and pedagogical considerations for using these academic technology tools as well as implementation ideas for use in your own teaching.
Online Teaching Certification & Recertification Options
We invite faculty/instructors to register for upcoming sessions of the Online Teaching Certification Seminar. Six-week sessions are offered multiple times throughout the year. They support the University of Missouri System-wide requirement that instructors be certified before teaching online courses.
In addition, our Online Teaching Recertification Programs support the requirement that recertification occur every five years. Recertification options include a three-week, fully-facilitated program and a new flexible pathway model utilizing Missouri Online’s Sprint mini-course program. Instructors can self-enroll and begin at a time most convenient for you.

TidyUP is Now Available in Canvas

TidyUP makes it easy to identify unpublished pages, delete outdated content and remove empty folders in Canvas. By cleaning up your Canvas courses, you can help to ensure we are being good stewards of our resources, and more importantly, takes you one step closer to ensuring your course will meet accessibility standards for the April 2026 regulations. We encourage you to try TidyUP in your Spring 2025 courses. Look for more information on our support portal or check out the TidyUp user guide.
